# Khan Saffron

> Khan Saffron is a luxury saffron house offering hand-selected Crocus sativus threads in four expressions: Khan Saffron, Khan Royale, Khan Impérial and Khan Maturé. Every order is cleaned and hand-packed to order in the White Room of the brand’s Atelier in Sofia, Bulgaria, operated by Pasha Healthcare Food Technology Ltd., with a communication office at The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul. - Harvest: the red-maroon tips of the stigmas are picked by hand during only two weeks each year, dried, then cleaned and re-selected by hand in the White Room (controlled humidity, light and temperature, laboratory hygiene) of our Atelier in Sofia, Bulgaria.
- Expressions (vintage; grammes): Khan Saffron (2026; 6 g, 24 g, 60 g, 120 g); Khan Royale (2025, 2026; 6 g, 24 g, 60 g, 120 g); Khan Impérial (2025, 2026; 6 g, 24 g); Khan Maturé (2010, 2012, 2013; 6 g, 24 g, 60 g). - Khan Royale: 1 gram requires a precise selection from the extracted threads of 800,000–1,000,000 crocus flowers.
- Saffron regions traced, harvest by harvest: La Mancha (Spain), Taliouine (Morocco), Navelli / Abruzzo (Italy), Kozani (Greece), Santorini / Crete (Greece), Safranbolu (Türkiye), Mashhad / Khorasan (Iran), Qaen (Iran), Herat (Afghanistan), Pampore / Kashmir (India). The selection changes with harvests and climate; KHAN selects by harvest, not by a single origin.
- History: around 1600 BCE, saffron gathering was depicted in the Bronze Age wall paintings of Akrotiri, on Santorini — among the earliest surviving visual records of saffron gathering.
- Khan Impérial: of around 400,000 kg of saffron produced worldwide each year, only 2–3 kg become Khan Impérial; each container is hand-selected, sealed and signed by the founder, Daniel S.
- Label: 100% natural; No additives or preservatives; Safe dose is up to 1.5 g/day per person; Store airtight, in a cool, dark and dry place; Once opened, can be consumed within 2 years if stored properly.
- Packaging: 100% plastic-free; the Apothecary Archive violet-glass jar filters light to help preserve the threads. Every order is packed to order (PTO).
- La Réserve des Saisons: annual allocations for restaurants, hotels and establishments, pre-reserved at each harvest for a year-round supply; consultation at khan@khansaffron.net.
- Delivery: worldwide directly from our Atelier in the EU with DHL Express; shipping is quoted with your order. Outside the EU, customs duties and import VAT are paid by the recipient.
